My only complaint is, I really wished Belkin offered this product as a Component Video/Audio cable and included similar quality audio cables, or even an option for an optical audio cable to be included for an additional amount. This item came in a plastic blister pack just like you would purchase from a store.
Being such, I purchased this component cable to use on their TV. I recently bought a Blu-Ray player for a relative that has yet to upgrade to an HDMI capable TV.
I have purchased cheap HDMI cables from Amazon and they do not come in any sort of package. It really looks, feels and transmits like a quality product.
I know this is a small detail, but I was happy with the packaging as well. This is great if you are buying these as a gift (or as part of a gift like in my case).
Being that it didn't have these options, I had to order that separately.
I bought a new 42-inch Samsung LCD TV and hooked it up with my DVD player using the composite cable.looked like crap. So I bought the Belkin and now i get the 480p, which is the maximum you can get out of a regular DVD. If you don't have a Blue-ray player, you DON'T need more than this cable.
I have an older home theater receiver and these cables did exactly what I needed them to do. My only criticism is the awkwardly shaped bubble pack packaging.
the only thing need to say is you still need a audio connection btw tv and dvd
If you're involved in the pursuit of the Ultimate Budget Video Cable, this Belkin won't be the last stop in your journey. I don't know what kind of alien-planet tv some people are watching, but if you can't detect a major difference between these and the few really good (and many bad) budget video cables around, it doesn't make any difference whether you buy $500 dream-wire, $4 super-cheapies, or these Belkins. Anyway, how much gold can you get at this price. Contrast is low, which gave the tv image a flat, slightly pale look; tv picture controls can accomplish only so much, which was not enough to make this cable's image look any more spiffy. In this case the price is about right for this level of performance. The connectors are a bit loose, so that swiveling your tv side to side often drops a connection or two. It's only average performance, with a suprisingly soft image despite the use of solid-core wire (I find this to be characteristic of Belkin's entire line of video cable). The gold plating is no help; everyone reading this knows that gold isn't used in pro video shops because of its poor conductivity.
One owner's advice to slightly crimp the plug's edges is really NOT what you should be forced to do, but it's likely the only method for keeping these critters secured. Reviews of this wire from other buyers are as puzzling as ever, especially those stating that this wire is "better" than such-and-such brand or "can't see" any difference between this product and their old Monster Cable (admittedly the Monsters are awful, but they do have decent contrast). Nickel-copper alloy would make more sense. The search goes on.
